Ogden International's Elementary School is a space where children are treasured and valued, where each child is an enthusiastic learner and is encouraged to continuously move forward, to be inquisitive and to rely on discovery as an important source of learning. Our experienced faculty is committed to connecting students with their potential. We offer an education that motivates, encourages and inspires children to be creative problem-solvers, innovators, and leaders. We take a global approach to teaching, always striving to develop open-minded, caring humans that will lead us peacefully in to the future.
Come back often for important Elementary School information and announcements! This is where everything is going to posted throughout the year.
Week of March 27
IB:We strive to exhibit the attributes of the Learner Profile and demonstrate the IB Attitudes all year long! March's learner profile is "thinker" and attitude is "creativity." Ask the learners in your family how have each have used critical and creative thinking skills to analyze and take responsible action on complex problems. How have they made reasoned, ethical decisions? Want to know why IB is important for our learners. Read THIS.

The Event will take place on March 30, 2017 @ 4:30pm- 7:30pm at the West Campus.
Attendance policies: If you did not receive the email with the new attendance policies, please let us know. Tardiness and truancy can result in misconducts. Please ensure you are at school on time, and only absent for valid reasons.
(2-8) NWEA testing window: Please ensure your child(ren) are on time and present from May 15th-June 16th for NWEA testing. Students who miss their regularly scheduled testing time will be required to complete it in a make-up session. Typically, students perform worse when taking the test in a make-up session because it is with a teacher and other students they are unfamiliar with. In some cases NWEA test scores are used to place students in accelerated classes in middle school. For 8th grade students, NWEA test scores are used to place students in courses in high school. Scores from 2nd-5th grade students are used by teachers to create homogeneous and heterogeneous groups in class. Spring NWEA testing is critical.
Special Thanks: This weekend over 30 teachers from both the East and West campus gathered for Philosophy for Children in PYP & MYP IB Programmes professional development at the East campus. A special thank you to the Friends of Ogden for funding the opportunity, the wonderful Ghantous family for feeding our teachers both days from Cafecito, the PTA for providing popcorn and snacks, Starbucks on Rush for coffee, NYC Bagel Deli for providing bagels, and various staff members who contributed. It was a shining example of how the Ogden learning community comes together and values learning at all levels!
Please remember to send in all of your box tops. The classroom with the most will win a special prize from PTA. They are due by June 1st.
