Ogden International is proud of our cultural and racial diversity. There are 49 different languages spoken at our students' homes and we are one of the top 10 most diverse schools in Chicago Public Schools. At Ogden International we embrace diversity, but like every community, we are working to ensure we are fully inclusive - embracing differences in race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, gender, learning differences and sexual identity.
Two of our parent groups focus on improving our inclusive practices: SEED and Diversity & Inclusion Committee. All are welcome to join.
Our teachers and staff also have their own SEED group and our Diversity Advocacy Team (DAT) is a small, diverse group of teachers who are committed to organizing and implementing institutional transformation for the benefit of all members of the Ogden community. They act as advisers in supporting the school in meeting diversity initiatives and providing the framework needed to reach planned goals.
The diversity work at Ogden is not top-down from our Administration, but instead it is a truly collaborative effort between teachers, staff, administration and parents.
