According to the CPS website, “Deaf and Hard of Hearing programs are designed to ensure that students with disabilities receive a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment and provide health-related services to all Chicago public school students. “At Ogden, we believe that our students should have access to an appropriate education in the least restrictive environment. For many of our students, this means a total communication approach, several mainstream/ inclusion opportunities, and support with consideration to their individual needs.”
Teachers and Support:
Our students span grades 9-12.
Our staff consists of two teachers experienced with Deaf/ Hard of Hearing services, one Educational Sign Language interpreter, and two teacher assistants.
An audiologist visits the school bi-weekly and a speech pathologist provides weekly services inside and outside of the classroom.
