The leadership team at Ogden International comes from a variety of backgrounds.

Mrs. Cara Kranz
Mrs. Kranz is from a small farming community in south central Minnesota. She moved to Chicago after graduating high school and has called this her home for over twenty-five years. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Northeastern Illinois University, she joined Chicago Public Schools in 1998 and taught in the Bowmanville community for nearly a decade. She pursued her masters degree in educational leadership, and became the Administrator for Regional Gifted Centers and then Deputy of Academic Enhancement. While in that position, she was part of a team that opened the district’s most sought after gifted & magnet schools. Most recently, she has served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Chicago Board of Education. Cara and her husband Yooshik have a busy home life raising three boys, all who attend CPS schools. In her free time, Cara enjoys her husband’s cooking and outdoor adventures with her family.

Mr. Matthew Baker
Mr. Baker was born in a small mountain town on the Western Slope of Colorado but soon moved to the Southwest suburbs of Chicago where he grew up in a family of four boys. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from the University of Evansville and studying history at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England, he moved back to Chicago to begin his teaching career at Ogden. He is a founding teacher of the Ogden International High School and has served many important roles throughout his nine year career including: history teacher, department head, international exchange coordinator, elected Local School Council member and Athletic Director. He most recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received a master’s degree in Educational Policy, Organization and Leadership. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and camping, playing basketball, riding bikes, and making music.
