IB: We strive to exhibit the attributes of the Learner Profile and demonstrate the IB Attitudes all year long! May's learner profile is "Inquirer" and attitude is "Curiosity." Ask the learners in your family how inquiry and curiosity have helped them learn at Ogden. Want to know why IB is important for our learners? Read THIS.
Relocating or transferring? Is your family moving or transferring before next school year? Please complete THIS form to let us know. This will enable us to prepare documents prior to the end of the school year. It also helps with planning homerooms and schedules.

9th Grade World Studies Service Learning Experience: As part of a unit on human rights and access to green space as a human rights issue, Ogden's 9th grade class took to the forest! Working with the Forest Preserves of Cook County, every student in the World Studies classes of Mr. Hall and Mr. Torres learned about the importance of nature for urban dwellers, how green space can be preserved by concerned citizens, and how it can be maintained by volunteers like them. Half of the students went to Sagawau Environmental Learning Center in Lemont, IL and the other half to Sand Ridge Nature Center in South Holland, IL. They learned about the preserves and participated in the removal of Garlic Mustard, a truly invasive species in this area. The preserves were left in a better condition than before Ogden came, and our students loved being in the great outdoors! If you would like to volunteer at the Forest Preserves of Cook County, go to http://fpdcc.com/volunteer/

(~5th - 12th) Controversial Netflix series: After receiving concerns from parents about the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, we are providing resources to support conversations at home. In case you are not familiar, the series depicts suicide of a young teen with graphic depictions of the events which lead to her suicide, including rape. This topic is disturbing, and we feel it is important parents are made aware because many students are discussing the show at school. As a first step, it might be best to find out if your child has viewed the series. If so, sit down and speak openly about what it meant to them. Supportive conversations are critical so that students understand their feelings and always know there are options. Below are resources to help inform you and the conversations at home. Should you have questions, our school counselors are great resources.
