Week of April 24
IB: We strive to exhibit the attributes of the Learner Profile and demonstrate the IB Attitudes all year long! April's learner profile is "Knowledgeable" and attitude is "enthusiasm." Ask the learners in your family how have each have used their enthusiasm and knowledge to solve complex problems. Want to know why IB is important for our learners. Read THIS.

(6-12) Ogden International Weekly: HERE is the edition for April 19th.
(6-8) Anti-Bullying Month:
Anti Bullying Month will take place in April & May. The students will be making Anti-Mean Memes in advisory. The Art Club will be taking those memes and putting them into a artistic piece that will be displayed in the Middle School staircase. Mr. Henderson will be speaking about the differences of Teasing vs. Bullying on May 12th during 7th and 8th period. Feel free to come stop by! High School mentors will also be coming in to speak to Middle Schoolers in their English classrooms on April 28th to talk about Teasing vs. Bullying as well as how technology relates to bullying. We are very excited to have first hand experiences shared by our high schoolers! We encourage parents to have talks at home with their children related to bullying as well as to educate them on the facts of Teasing vs. Bullying.
(6-8) NWEA- All middle school students will take the spring administration of the NWEA-MAP test in reading and math beginning the week of May 15. This important test will be used in determining promotion for 6th and 8th graders and eligibility for applying to select CPS schools and programs. Information about the NWEA can be found at www.nwea.org. We are offering three opportunities for each advisory to win an invitation to a special Summer Dance Party with pizza!! Advisories can win by: (1) Having the greatest average growth in mathematics, (2) Having the greatest average growth in reading, (3) Spending the greatest average time on the test.
(7-8) ALGEBRA EXIT EXAM- Middle School algebra students will take the Algebra Exit Exam on Thursday, June 1 during 6th-8th periods. This test helps determine placement in high school mathematics classes for 9th grade. Contact the middle school algebra teachers, Mrs. Czarnecki, email@example.com, or Mr. McCabe, firstname.lastname@example.org, if you have any questions.
(6-12) Final Examination Schedule: Students in grades 8 and 12 will take their final exams June 5th-June 12th. Students in grades 6,7,9,10 & 11 will take their final exams June 9th-June 16th. It is imperative that students are present the entire time during final examinations, as there is very limited time prior to grades being due for the year.
Please remember to send in all of your box tops. The classroom with the most will win a special prize from PTA. They are due by June 1st.
