Seeking Educational Equity & Diversity (SEED)
The Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity (SEED) Project is a multifaceted diversity program that helps participants reflect on their own and others experiences while also reviewing current theory on such topics as race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status and more. The 2.5 hour long once a month seminars are also designed to help participants create, develop and implement strategies that foster respect for all people.
Ogden started SEED Cohort #1 in the Fall of 2016 with 7 parents and 15 staff. In the Fall of 2017, Ogden started SEED Cohort #2 with 40+ of each! "I have become more eager and more energetic to continue to stay positive and optimistic. It makes me even more determined to fight for what is right - especially after seeing and meeting so many great people who have and want to become the CHANGE!" From E.G. (2017-2018 Cohort) |
