Special Education at East Campus
At Ogden, we are committed to meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of all children. We work collaboratively with teachers, administration, related service providers, paraprofessionals, students and parents to provide tools, guidance, supports and services necessary to ensure the success of our diverse learners.
Our special education/diverse learner teachers write and develop IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) for our diverse learners and push-in to classrooms to provide specialized instruction, accommodations and modifications in the general education environment. We are firm believers in inclusion and co-teaching, as there are endless benefits to having two, highly qualified teachers in the classroom. We also offer resource classes in a separate setting for more individualized instruction in language arts or math.
We believe that everyone is unique and learns differently. It is our job differentiate lessons and design individualized instruction to best meet student need in the least restrictive environment (LRE).
